The art of dealing with a crisis
Poor handling of a crisis situation can quickly damage a good brand. It is essential for the company to provide information in the right way to quell rumours. If this information is handled in a professional manner, according to a crisis management plan, clients, the general public and others connected with the company will be much more willing to forgive any transgressions than many people believe.
This is how we work:
Newsroom produces a special communication plan for crisis situations, working in close collaboration with the companys management team. This crisis management plan must be approved and supported by the management, all employees must be aware of the plan and key persons in the company must be trained to implement the plan if necessary. The crisis communication plan includes: support of all managers, questions from the press, messages, media contacts, target audiences, channels, plan of action and a crisis diary. It is a good idea for the company to produce pocket-size versions of its crisis management plan so that employees have it handy at all times.
